A session of the 'Dimarts de vídeo' series at Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona) in which Anna Giralt Gris and Jorge Caballero present Artefacto —their research and production centre— and their expanded-cinema work with artificial intelligence. Under the motto 'I wanted to make a meme and ended up with a film essay', they explore the tension between rigorous artistic creation centred on AI and computational cinema and the pursuit of virality of our time. The session includes screenings of 'Membrana, volume I' —a film essay based on Jorge Carrión's novel— and '#', a generative video experiment.

Drawing on concrete case studies, they address what AI can bring to archive work, research, restoration, transcription and search; its use in pre-production and production —translation, subtitling, voice-over, dubbing—; and the legal and ethical stakes (rights, transparency, energy footprint).
