A seven-day lab for the Master of Film at the Netherlands Film Academy, working on the material students bring from the previous labs of the semester. The first three days are about analytic AI, the models that read what already exists without generating anything: transcription, shot breakdowns, searching hours of material by meaning and classifying large corpora under one’s own taxonomy. From day four the lab turns to image, video and voice generation, starting with how the models work and what to ask before choosing one, with a log of every generated asset and an ethics note by each student within the framework of the EU AI Act. The last day is for presentations and a group critique.
